Stavropol policeman dies in hospital after attack

A deputy head of the Criminal Investigation Division in Stavropol received gunshot wounds in the attack and died in the intensive care.

According to investigators, the attack on the policeman was committed at night on July 23 near one of the multi-storey buildings in Stavropol. "Unknown persons attacked the policeman; one of them opened fire. As a result, the policeman received gunshot wounds to his hip and torso; while the attackers fled from the venue. Later, the policeman died in the intensive care unit of the city hospital," the Investigating Department for the Stavropol Territory of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) informed on July 24.
