Two Georgian citizens leave Kabul

Two more Georgian citizens have left Afghanistan and flew to Germany to return to their homeland. According to the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), overall 14 Georgian citizens are still in Kabul, which was captured by the Taliban.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that as of August 16, a total of 23 Georgian citizens remained in Kabul, who has worked there under contracts with private companies. Georgian authorities "are doing everything possible" to return them from Afghanistan, Alexander Gvtisiashvili, a Deputy Foreign Minister, assured on that day. In the morning on August 18, six Georgian citizens returned home from Kabul.

Two more Georgian citizens have been evacuated from Afghanistan; their transportation to the NATO base was ensured by the British company for which they had worked. Now, both are in Germany, where they flew from the NATO base in Tashkent. Then, they will fly to Warsaw and from there – to Georgia, the Georgian Channel One reported in the evening on August 19.

Other 14 Georgian citizens are still in Afghanistan, the "Sputnik-Georgia" has reported with reference to the Georgian MFA.
