A resident of Pskov Region returns home after escaping from slavery in Buynaksk

Vladislav Platonenko, who managed to escape from labour slavery in Buynaksk, returned to the Pskov Region. He intends to file a complaint to the police about torture at a brick factory.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on September 19, the “Alternative” movement made public a story of Vladislav Platonenko, a native of the Pskov Region, who stayed in labour slavery for a year at a brick factory in Buynaksk.

Today, Vladislav Platonenko has told the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent that he has returned home to the Pskov Region and applied for a new passport.

“As soon as I get a passport, I will file a complaint to the police about torture. Earlier, in Ryazan, the police have told me that they could not accept a complaint without a passport,” Vladislav Platonenko explained.

The man claims that during his stay at the brick factory in Buynaksk he was not paid, but was only given food. According to Vladislav Platonenko, apart from him, about 20 other forced labourers worked at the brick factory.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Dagestan promised to render assistance to the “Alternative” movement in inspecting the brick factory where Vladislav Platonenko worked. This was told to the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent by Oleg Melnikov, the head of the “Alternative” movement. Oleg Melnikov found it difficult to specify the time period of the inspection.
