Kadyrov takes office as leader of Chechnya

Ramzan Kadyrov has officially taken office as the leader of Chechnya. While delivering his inaugural speech, he has promised to respect and protect the rights of citizens.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that the Chechen parliament has appointed for today a solemn meeting to honour the Ramzan Kadyrov’s inauguration as the leader of the republic. Festive events on the occasion of the City Day are also scheduled in Grozny for today, when Ramzan Kadyrov celebrates his 45th birthday.

According to the Central Election Commission (CEC), Ramzan Kadyrov won 99.7% of the votes at the election of the leader of Chechnya. Meanwhile, he broke his own record of 2016, when he gained 97% of the votes. Analysts suggest that the Ramzan Kadyrov’s election victory is absolutely implausible and typical for authoritarian regimes.

After thanking President Vladimir Putin for nominating him, Ramzan Kadyrov also expressed his gratitude to the Chechen people for their support at the election, the “Interfax” reports.

“The election outcome has once again proved the strong support of the Chechen people for the policy aimed at creation, stability, and peaceful development,” the “Interfax” quotes Ramzan Kadyrov as saying.

When mentioning Akhmat Kadyrov, the leader of Chechnya could not hold back his tears, the RIA “Novosti” reports.
