Residents of Chechnya alarmed by requirement to present QR codes

Starting from today, in Chechnya, citizens are banned from visiting organizations and public places without presenting a QR code, a certificate of vaccination, or a certificate confirming recovering from the COVID-19 disease. Some residents of the republic complained on Instagram that they did not know where to get a QR code.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that starting from October 11, a person will be allowed to enter all organizations and public places in Chechnya with a QR code, or a paper certificate of vaccination, or a certificate confirming recovering from the COVID-19 disease over the past six months. This was announced on October 9 by Vakhit Usmaev, the chief of the operational headquarters. Elderly residents of Chechnya who have not been vaccinated and have not recovered from the coronavirus will only be allowed to visit medical facilities.

In their comments under the message on the introduction of the QR code system in Chechnya, posted on the Instagram public account eldit_net on October 10, social media users admitted that they did not understand how to fulfil the new requirement. “Am I alone who do not know what it is?” wrote, in particular, user kadyrovaruzana16. “There are already two of us,” replied user al_narmi. “The main thing is to find it [a QR code] ...” user lonelyflo noticed. “I really don’t know what a QR code is. Is it on the mobile phone?” user elizabett_tcokieva asked.

“I thought that at least the Chechen Republic would not introduce those codes and all that mess. Alas, I am disappointed,” user abdulvagapova__tamila wrote.
