Azeri MoD announces serviceman's death

An Azerbaijani military serviceman was killed by a sniper's shot made from the responsibility area of Russian peacemakers in Karabakh. The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD) has treated the incident as a terror act.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 13, the Azeri MoD stated that a motor convoy with construction materials had been shelled in the responsibility zone of Russian peacemakers in the Kelbadjar District. The MoD of Nagorno-Karabakh refuted this information, but Russian peacemakers confirmed the fact of shelling.

On October 14, Afgan Bakhram oglu Khamzaev, an Azerbaijani serviceman, was killed by a sniper's shot made from the territory controlled by Russian peacemakers. According to the MoD of Azerbaijan, he was shot dead at 6:15 p.m.; it is not specified, in what particular section of Russian peacemakers' responsibility zone the incident took place.

The official Baku treats the incident as a terror act. The Azerbaijani MoD has blamed "illegal Armenian armed units" for the serviceman's death.
