Saakashvili's supporters start endless protest in Tbilisi

Several thousand protesters, who gathered in the evening on November 8 in the central square in Tbilisi – Freedom Square, staged a march through the territory adjacent to the building of the country's government administration, in order to block the exits from it. With this march, the opposition has launched an endless protest action, which, according to their statement, will end with the release of Mikheil (Mikhail) Saakashvili, the third president of Georgia, and the annulment of the outcomes of the recent municipal elections.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that starting from October 1, Mikhail Saakashvili has been on the hunger strike in the prison in Rustavi. The former president of Georgia demands to release him.

Nika Meliya, the leader of the oppositional "United National Movement" (UNM) Party, said at a rally that targeted protest actions would be held in city streets; the next one will be held in the morning on November 9 in front of the Ministry of Justice.

"From today on, we are launching a large, national, incessant protest movement. There will be a strong and peaceful protest; the city streets will not be empty; the fight will be on the nerves," Mr Meliya has stated.

He has called on the protesters not to hold protest actions near the Tbilisi Prison, where Saakashvili is now kept, so as not to succumb to provocations that may be staged there, which, in his words, will endanger "Saakashvili's life."
