Baku townspeople mark anniversary of end of autumn war with massive march

On November 8, Azerbaijan marked the Victory Day in honour of the anniversary of the end of hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh in the fall of 2020. On the occasion of the holiday, a march of many thousands was held in Baku.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in Azerbaijan, November 10, when last year the agreement on the end of hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh came into force, was declared the Victory Day in the Patriotic War. Later, the authorities declared November 8, the liberation day of the city of Shusha (the Armenian name is Shushi), as the Victory Day.

The march in honour of the Victory Day began in the morning on November 8 from the Azneft Square, from where the marchers headed along the Caspian Sea embankment for about five kilometres to the "New Boulevard" in the "White City".

The march ended at about noon with a flash mob organized with the support of the "Regional Development" Public Association. In particular, young volunteers created the composition "Iron Fist" – the symbol of the Azerbaijan's military operation in the fall of 2020. The action ended with the performance of the Azerbaijan's anthem by volunteers.
