Ravil Rasulov’s mother demands to institute a criminal case after death of her son in SIZO

Today, in Volgograd, Roza Razumova, a mother of Ravil Rasulov, who died in a SIZO (pre-trial prison), has held a solo picket in front of the building of the Russian president’s reception office. The woman demands to clarify the circumstances of her son’s death and institute a criminal case.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that Ravil Rasulov, a suspect in a case on extortion, was found dead in a SIZO in Volgograd. Ravil Rasulov, who died in the SIZO in the Volgograd Region, could be tortured, says human rights defender Igor Nagavkin. According to him, there were clear signs of beatings on the Ravil Rasulov’s body.

Today, at 11:00 a.m. Moscow time, the mother of Ravil Rasulov has come to protest in front of the Russian president’s reception office in Volgograd and held a solo picket. In her hands, the woman was holding a poster with the appeal to the Russian president requesting to pay attention to the situation in the SIZO-1.

According to the mother of the deceased convict, on November 3, she sent an appeal to the Volgograd Regional Prosecutor’s Office, but did not get any response yet. “Out of despair, I had to come to a solo picket with a poster. I hope maybe at least someone will notice me. No answer came from the institutions to which I appealed. I can get nothing from them. How can this be true? They were to open a case on the very day of the tragedy. There are signs of beatings on my son’s face and body. So far, why no criminal case has been instituted? Well, where is the justice?” Roza Razumova expressed her indignation.
