In Moscow, activist detained at a picket in support of “Memorial”*
The police detained a man who unfolded a poster in support of the “Memorial”* in front of the building of the Supreme Court of Russia, which started a hearing on a lawsuit to liquidate the historical and educational society.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that the hearing of the Supreme Court (SC) of Russia is being held today on the lawsuit filed by the General Prosecutor’s Office on the liquidation of the “International Memorial”* (the International Historical, Educational, Charity and Human Rights Society “Memorial”) due to the lack of marking on the status of a foreign agent.
“A lot of people” came to support the “Memorial”*, and after the beginning of the court hearing, an activist was detained near the courthouse, the Human Rights Centre (HRC) reported on its Telegram channel.
Let us remind you that during the court hearing on the liquidation of the “International Memorial”* on November 25, the police detained activists at pickets near the building of the Supreme Court. Music teacher Alexei Belenkin was sentenced to 25 days of arrest by the court. Activist Konstantin Kotov was sentenced to nine days of arrest.
*The organization has been put on the register of foreign agents by the Russian Ministry of Justice.
