Skirmish with convoy guards ends in Saakashvili's fainting

Mikheil (Mikhail) Saakashvili, a former Georgian president, has resisted his convoy guards, who tried to transfer him from the military hospital to a prison. During the incident, he lost consciousness.

Saakashvili returned to Georgia in late September and was arrested on October 1, as he had been sentenced in absentia in Georgia to imprisonment within two criminal cases. Immediately after his arrest, the politician went on a 50-day-long hunger strike, which he stopped after achieving his transfer from the prison and prison hospital to the military hospital.

On December 27, they intended to transfer Saakashvili from the hospital where he is undergoing treatment after the hunger strike back into the prison, but he rendered resistance to convoy guards.

The Ombudsperson's official has stated on air of the "Mtavari Arkhi" TV Company that the hospital had suspended Saakashvili's transfer until his condition stabilized. Saakashvili did not rule out that he would resume his hunger strike as a sign of protest.

According to media reports, they wouldn't let Saakashvili's personal doctor and doctors of the council to visit him.
