Three regions of Southern Russia are among top ten most corrupt ones in GPO's rating

According to the Russia's General Prosecutor's Office (GPO), in January-November, 2021, a total of 268 crimes related to bribe-taking were registered in the Krasnodar Territory. This region took the second place, losing only to Moscow. The top ten most corrupt regions of Russia also include the Stavropol Territory and the Rostov Region.

On January 3, on its portal of legal statistics, the Russia's GPO published the data on the crimes committed in January-November 2021 in Russian regions, including on the number of criminal cases on bribe-taking (Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

By the outcomes of the last year's 11 months, the second place in the country in terms of the number of criminal cases initiated under the above Article 290 belongs to the Krasnodar Territory, where 268 such crimes were registered. For comparison, in Moscow, the rating leader, there were 334 such crimes for the same period, as it follows from the GPO's data.

The top ten most corrupt regions also include the Stavropol Territory (8th place and 132 registered crimes) and Rostov Region (9th place and 108 registered crimes).
