Court fines Dagestani resident for posting IS'* flag
The Tabasaran District Court of Dagestan has fined a local resident by 1000 roubles for placing the black flag of the "Islamic State" (IS)*, a terrorist organization, on the Internet.
According to law enforcers, Ruslan Mallaliev posted the IS* flag on the Instagram.
His post was detected by a local law enforcer. An administrative case was initiated against Mallaliev under the article "Propaganda or public display of Nazi or extremist paraphernalia or symbols," the "Kavkaz.Realii"** wrote on January 4.
The above district court has found Mallaliev guilty and sentenced him to a minimum possible fine of 1000 roubles.
*The IS ("Islamic State", formerly ISIS or ISIL) is an organization recognized as terrorist and banned in Russia by the court.
**The edition has been put on the list of foreign media performing the functions of a foreign agent, compiled by the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) of Russia.
