Two Chechen women publicly condemned for occultism

Adam Elzhurkaev, the head of the Centre for Islamic Medicine, has scolded two female residents of Chechnya who were detained by police for providing occult services.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in 2019, Chechen authorities resumed persecuting people providing occult services. In particular, on December 7, 2021, a TV story about three "fake female healers" was released.

"Another 'witch' has been detained in Chechnya. The fraudster was reselling 'charmed' water," says the Instagram channel the "Grozny" TV Company.

According to the plot authors, a resident of Chechnya, named Aset, turned to the "fortune-teller Liza from the city of Khasavyurt." Aset "at first looked for a cure for herself, but neither fortune-telling on cards, nor the charmed water, nor all this mysticism had confused her."

“Moreover, Aset decided to resell the 'charmed' water, but policemen have intervened in her business," the report says.

In Russia, criminal prosecution of psychics and magicians on charges of fraud is practiced, but it can be difficult to prove the fraudulent intent in such cases; therefore law enforcers "do not really like" such cases, Abusupyan Gaitaev, a lawyer, has stated earlier.
