Melikov demands from Dagestani to apologize for behaviour in Moscow

The native of Dagestan, who rudely insulted bus passengers in Moscow, must apologize to them and to his fellow countrymen, on behalf of whom he had tried to speak, Sergey Melikov, the head of Dagestan, has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that a native of Dagestan, by emphasizing his nationality, showered insults and obscene language on passengers of public transport in Moscow. It follows from the video posted on January 16 in the Telegram channel "What do Dagestanis have there?"

"The behaviour of the young man not only violates all conceivable norms that exist in the human society, but also contradicts the historically established ethical code of a Dagestani, which defines, among other things, the attitude towards elders. All the more outrageous is his attempt to speak on behalf of the peace-loving Dagestani people, to whom such barbaric manifestations are alien. I believe that man must apologize not only to those whom he grossly insulted, but also to all the Dagestanis on whose behalf he tried to speak," the head of Dagestan, Sergey Melikov, wrote in his Instagram account.

Commentators to Melikov's post have also expressed indignation at the behaviour of their fellow countryman and called for punishing him. "The man and his parents should be invited to the administration; he should be forced to publicly apologize and sent to community works," the user fact_log has demanded, in particular. "I agree with the position of the republic's head. Such behaviour has nothing to do with our republic. I feel shame for this [person]," the user abdulkhakim_gadjidadaev has suggested.
