Within last 24 hours, almost 3000 new signatories demand Kadyrov's resignation

The electronic petition to Vladimir Putin demanding the resignation of the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov has gained more than 216,000 signatures; over the last 24 hours, the number of signatories has grown by 2928.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 6, the above petition was posted on the website Change.org by the Moscow oppositional politician, Ilya Yashin. By 11:00 p.m. Moscow time on February 14, the petition entitled "Kadyrov, resign!" gained 213,307 signatures. The fact that such a large number of people have signed the petition in a short time confirms that public attention is focused on the situation in Chechnya, Ekaterina Shulman, a political analyst, has noted.

By 11:00 p.m. Moscow time on February 15, the petition for Kadyrov's resignation gained 216,235 signatures. Thus, during a day, 2928 signatures were added thereto.
