Journalist Mamedova attacked in Baku

A man armed with a knife attacked the Azerbaijani journalist, Aiten Mamedova, and demanded from her not to cover the trial. The police reported on the investigation of the incident.

The incident took place in the Binagadi District. The man who followed Mamedova into the elevator of the building put a knife to her throat and demanded from her not to write about the trial. Having wounded Mamedova, the man fled. It is not known what trial he meant, the "Report" informs today.

The press service of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has reported that an investigation into the incident had been launched. The police have accepted Aiten Mamedova's application in connection with the attack, the APA reports.
