Court finds Shakhty resident guilty of discrediting militaries

The Shakhty City Court has arrested Anatoly Nurskanov, a local resident, for five days, finding him guilty of discrediting the Russian Armed Forces.

According to investigators, on May 9, Anatoly Nurskanov, a resident of the city of Shakhty in the Rostov Region, took part in the march of the Immortal Regiment and, while in the column, spread false information about the Russian Armed Forces.

"He also called on citizens to hold actions in support of Nazism; he disobeyed a policeman's lawful demand, which was in his categorical refusal to proceed to a police car for identification and further proceedings, and made an attempt to escape," the "Bloknot. Rostov-on-Don" quoted on May 12 the message of the joint press service of the courts of the Rostov Region.

The Shakhty City Court found Nurskanov guilty and sentenced him to five days of arrest, the report says.
