Opposition resumes protests in Yerevan

In Yerevan, participants of a protest action gathered in front of the building of the Supreme Judicial Council and demanded to institute a criminal case against Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The protestors also expressed their solidarity with relatives of those killed during the aggravation of the Karabakh conflict in 2020.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that starting from April 25, the Armenian opposition has been holding protest actions. On May 25, in Yerevan, protest leaders called on activists to block buildings of public institutions, after which protesters blocked a residence of the country’s president and the Armenian Security Council. The buildings were later unblocked and the protestors blocked the streets in the city centre.

Today, activists from among the supporters of the “Resistance” movement have resumed their protest actions in Yerevan. In particular, the oppositionists have marched from Square of France to the building of the Supreme Judicial Council of Armenia. Activists thus demonstrated their support for the relatives and parents of the dead and missing during the aggravation of the Karabakh conflict in the autumn of 2020, the “News.am” reports today.

The protesters, who gathered in front of the building of the Supreme Judicial Council of Armenia, demanded to institute a criminal case under an article on high treason against Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the “News.am” reports.
