Relatives of figurants in Gadjiev's case complain about arrest of property
Part of the property belonging to relatives of Abdulmumin Gadjiev, a journalist of the "Chernovik" (Draft) outlet, Abubakar Rizvanov, the head of the "Ansar" Charity Fund, and Kemal Tambiev is still under arrest, as investigators believes that this property had been bought for criminal money.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Abdulmumin Gadjiev, Abubakar Rizvanov and Kemal Tambiev are accused of financing terrorism. Gadjiev maintains his innocence, while his colleagues treat his prosecution as pressure on him.
The property of the defendants' relatives, earlier arrested by investigators, is still in the same status, Arsen Shabanov, a Gadjiev's advocate, has stated, explaining that investigators motivate the property arrest by the fact that it had been bought for the money received from criminal acts.
Thus, the property of Abdulumin Gadjiev's parents is still under arrest, namely, two land plots and an unfinished house, which they started building in early 1990s, when Gadjiev was less than 10 years old, Abdulmumin's mother told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. Both land plots were obtained in 1990; and the mother received an ownership document on her plot on May 30, 2001. However, the criminal case files assert that the land plot was allocated to her not in 2001, but in 2018, the mother has claimed.
The journalist's father told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that he received the technical passport for the house and the land plot on April 6, 2010, while the criminal case files assert that the ownership right was registered on May 22, 2014.
