The Azerbaijani troops shelled the border village of Khachik, and a car of the head of the rural community was damaged, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Armenia reports today. The Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan called the information not corresponding to the reality.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that Armenia and Azerbaijan periodically exchange accusations of shelling attacks. So, on July 4, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence stated that the positions of the Azerbaijani army in the Kelbadjar District were shelled from large-calibre weapons. The information about the shelling attack on the positions of the Azerbaijani army did not correspond to reality, the MoD of Armenia reported.
The Armenian MoD reported about the shelling attack on the Armenian border village of Khachik by units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces. “At about 9:15 p.m. on July 4, units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces opened fire from small arms, including large-calibre weapons, at Armenian combat positions on the eastern section of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, in particular, in the direction of the village of Khachik in the Vayots Dzor Region, as well as the road leading to the village. As a result, the car of the head of the rural community was damaged,” the publication “Aysor.Am” quoted the Armenian MoD as reporting.
The Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan called unreliable the information about the shelling attack on the village. “Our units did not open fire in the indicated direction,” the Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijani announced as quoted by the publication “Report”.
