Colony staff again prohibit advocate to visit Chechen Salekh Magamadov
Alexander Nemov, an advocate, was again denied a visit to his client, Salekh Magamadov, a native of Chechnya, convicted of assisting a militant. The advocate was told that Magamadov was not in the colony.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 15, advocate Nemov complained that he was denied a visit to Salekh Magamadov. The advocate was told that Magamadov was not there.
On February 22, a court in Chechnya sentenced Salekh Magamadov to eight years, and his brother Ismail Isaev to six years in prison, finding them guilty of aiding a militant from Aslan Byutukaev's grouping. In March 2021, the brothers complained of being beaten up and tortured and said they were forced to sign their fabricated confessions.
On July 15, Nemov filed a complaint after he was not allowed to visit Magamadov for the first time, but there is no response thereto, the "Sota" Telegram channel reports.
Let us remind you that on May 11, the Supreme Court of Chechnya refused to commute the verdicts pronounced to Magamadov and Isaev.
