Chechen gay Ismail Isaev re-placed in dungeon of Kuban colony

On August 6, the administration of the colony in the Krasnodar Territory (also called Kuban by the name of the main river) released Ismail Isaev, a native of Chechnya, from the dungeon (punishment cell, also known as ShIZO), but on the same day he was again placed there. In total, Isaev spent 19 days in the ShIZO, the SK SOS Crisis Group has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 11, 2022, the Supreme Court (SC) of Chechnya refused to commute verdicts to Salekh Magamadov and his brother Ismail Isaev, who were convicted for helping a militant. On July 21, it became known that Isaev was placed into the colony ShIZO for 15 days.

Back on February 22 this year, a court in Chechnya sentenced Salekh Magamadov to eight years and Ismail Isaev to six years in prison, finding them guilty of aiding a militant from Aslan Byutukaev's grouping. According to investigators, they gave him bread, juice, tea and chocolate. The brothers complained about being tortured after detention.

On August 6, Isaev was released from the dungeon, and then immediately placed back there without explanations, the above Crisis Group reported in its Telegram channel.

The brothers' advocates still know nothing about the whereabouts of Salekh Magamadov.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since July 15, the advocate has been denied meetings with Magamadov, claiming that he is not in the prison.
