Resident of Novorossiysk detained on suspicion of discrediting army
In the city of Novorossiysk, a local resident was detained for posting a video in the social network with statements discrediting the Russian Army.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 4, 2022, liability for discrediting the armed forces was introduced, after which residents of Russian regions, including the Krasnodar Territory, were prosecuted under this article. Thus, on August 22, a court in the Krymsky District fined a policeman, finding his public statements as discrediting militaries.
"The 28-year-old detainee does not work anywhere and treats himself as an advanced Internet user; he films videos and posts them in social networks," says the website of the Krasnodar Territorial Branch of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).
"The blogger has actively called citizens to take illegal actions; he posted provocative statements in his video clips, including against the support of international peace and security," Alexander Runov, the head of the press service of the Branch, has explained.
The man detained in Novorossiysk obscenely threatened to kill people walking along the embankment, and filmed what was happening on his phone.
Earlier, he "posted trash content – dancing in shorts and fur coats; and filmed a huge amount of alcoholic beverages that he drank," the above website writes.
