Residents and guests of Makhachkala have expressed interest in the pickets held by his colleagues in support of the Dagestani journalist, Abdulmumin Gadjiev. Policemen took written explanations from the picketers, but did not interfere with their actions.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Gadjiev's colleagues are regularly holding solo pickets in Makhachkala in support of him, at which they also demand to stop persecuting of journalists and release political prisoners.

Gadjiev's colleagues treat his criminal prosecution as unjustified and demand his immediate liberation, Magomed Magomedov, a deputy editor-in-chief of the "Chernovik" outlet, has stated.

He has added that passers-by actively reacted to the action; and the picket was also traditionally supported by drivers who were passing by the venue.

Idris Yusupov, a journalist, who held his solo picket demanding freedom for political prisoners, also gave explanations to the police. He has also noted an increased interest in the pickets. According to his story, many passers-by photographed the poster and expressed their approval with gestures.
