Introduction of fee for visiting fountain in Derbent surprises social network users
500 roubles for visiting a light and music show at a new fountain in Derbent is very expensive, given the travel and associated costs, social media users have complained. They wondered why the fountain was built once city authorities have no money to maintain it.
A large light and music fountain, reconstructed at the expense of the "Sberbank", opened on July 16 in Derbent. Telegram users have noted that Dagestan is still facing problems with water and electricity supplies.
Khizri Abakarov, a local deputy, has stated that the cost of maintaining the park should be included into the city budget. As soon as this happens, the payment for tickets will either be reduced or completely cancelled, the Telegram channel "Ask Rasul" asserts.
Let us remind you that water supply problem is one of the most acute in Dagestan. According to Kaspiysk townspeople, poor-quality water is supplied to their homes; and accidents occur due to worn out pipes. They keep reporting that they have water supply outages lasting for weeks, and in some houses water is supplied only once every few days.
