Rostov residents appeal to Putin for protection of grove from construction

In Rostov-on-Don, a land plot in the “SKA” grove was again put up for sale for residential construction. Activists wrote an appeal to the presidential administration with the demand to cancel the decision of the Federal Property Management Agency.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that a section of the “SKA” grove in Rostov-on-Don, which was planned to be cut down on July 27 for arrangement of a parking lot, was protected by local residents, who took it into a human ring. The protest action gathered several dozens of Rostov residents, mainly tenants of the houses located next to the “SKA” grove. The protestors stretched the construction tape and lined up in a living line around the perimeter of the grove area.

In Rostov-on-Don, a plot in the “SKA” grove is again put up for sale for residential construction. The local residents demand to cancel the decision of the Federal Property Management Agency, and the activists wrote an appeal to the presidential administration, the “161.RU” portal reports today.

Earlier, the city residents have handed over to Governor Vasily Golubev an appeal, the signatures to which took 15 sheets. “A land plot with a large part of the forest area of two hectares and with the appointment of ‘protective green spaces’ not by legal method, but by systematic illegal manipulations turned out to be the property of the Federal Property Management Agency for the Rostov Region. This happened despite the court’s decisions, inspections of the Prosecutor’s Office and the Investigating Committee, as well as the promises of the Governor to the people. The court has pronounced the decision that the land cannot be in circulation and that it is a public area,” the appeal says.

This weekend, the residents of Rostov-on-Don are planning to hold another flash mob in the “SKA” grove for the preservation of the green zone, the “Nashe Vremya” edition reports.
