Kremlin’s refusal to meet Kadyrov points to his participation in attack on Shoigu
When pointing out mistakes during the special military operation in Ukraine, Ramzan Kadyrov claims to be in a more significant position, but the Kremlin has pulled him down. This opinion is voiced by the political analysts interviewed by the “Caucasian Knot”.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on September 11, Ramzan Kadyrov accused the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) of the mistakes made in the Kharkov Region. On September 12, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that Vladimir Putin did not yet plan to meet Ramzan Kadyrov, who had expressed his readiness to explain the real situation in Ukraine to the country’s leader.
With his statement, on behalf of the Kremlin, Dmitry Peskov “put Ramzan Kadyrov in his place,” political analyst Dmitry Oreshkin believes. “The Ramzan Kadyrov’s statement about the wrong strategy of the special military operation in Ukraine are his bid for a higher role,” he added.
According to Dmitry Oreshkin, the Ramzan Kadyrov’s desire to meet the first person indicates that Ramzan Kadyrov thinks of himself as a political figure who is ready to lend a shoulder, give advice to President Putin, and solve the problem. “The Kremlin considered that fact very well and said, well, dear friend, sit still. This is not a very good situation for Ramzan Kadyrov,” Dmitry Oreshkin said.
In turn, Yevgeny Minchenko, the director of the political consulting centre, believes that the Dmitry Peskov’s statement have not yet become decisive. ‘The game’ has not yet been played. It is clear there is a critical wave against Russian Defence Minister Sergey Shoigu. And Ramzan Kadyrov is the public leader of those critics. Let’s see how he moves forward,” Yevgeny Minchenko told the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent.
