Mobilization summons raise questions among Volgograd residents

The residents of Volgograd, who have received summons, complained that they could not find out for how long they were called up and whether it was possible to go abroad during the mobilization. The law allows military commissariats (registration and enlistment offices) to define on their own restrictions on conscripts' departure outside the region.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that after on September 21, Vladimir Putin announced a partial mobilization, collection points for the mobilized persons were organized in the Volgograd Region.

This morning, the townspeople subject to mobilization and their relatives gathered near the building of the military commissariat of Volgograd.

The non-appearance at the military commissariat and an attempt to evade mobilization entail at least administrative liability, Sergey Ivaschenko, a lawyer, has explained.

As to criminal liability, it comes "after repeated deliberate evasion of mobilization, or an attempt to leave the residence without deregistration, or travel abroad," Mr Ivaschenko has emphasized.

Let us remind you that on September 22, the reserve lieutenant colonel Alexander Ermolaev, 63, was mobilized, although he suffers from diabetes and cerebral ischemia. He said that he was sent to the training ground, despite his age and diseases. On the same day it became known that Ermolaev was sent home.
