Law enforcers beat paramedic at protest action against mobilization in Makhachkala

Ratmir Sovzikhanov, a paramedic from Makhachkala, was taken to a hospital after he was beaten by law enforcers, who believed that he was filming on his mobile phone a protest action against mobilization. Ratmir Sovzikhanov was accompanying a patient in an ambulance.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on September 26, in Makhachkala, the police stopped a protest action against the mobilization, and a mass fight broke out on a city square. As a result, 150 people were brought to a police station, human rights defenders reported.

On September 26, law enforcers beat 27-year-old paramedic Ratmir Sovzikhanov when he was accompanying a patient in an ambulance to the hospital, the weekly newspaper “Chernovik’ (Rough Draft) reports.

“I looked out of an ambulance window, and I saw people being dispersed by the police. Law enforcers were chasing and beating young people,” the newspaper “Chernovik’ quoted the medical worker as saying.

According to Ratmir Sovzikhanov, he received a brain concussion as a result of being beaten by the law enforcers.
