Wives of mobilized Volgograd residents stunned by meagre payments

The wives of mobilized residents of the Volgograd Region have sent complaints to the military prosecutor's office after their husbands were told the amount of payments for their time spent at the training centre.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the residents of Volgograd, who had received summons, complained that they could not find out for how long they were called up and whether it was possible for them to go abroad during the mobilization. Also, they were not explained what measures would be taken to support their families.

Anzhela Kopaneva, the wife of a mobilized man, said that for the two weeks of her husband's stay at the training centre of the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD), he was promised, as well as others called up for service, to be paid about 6000 roubles, the "Vysota 102" outlet has reported.

Ms Kopaneva has complained that she could not live on this money with her child. "I'm pregnant, I don't work, and we have a rented apartment," the woman has complained.

The wives of other mobilized men are also shocked by the payment amounts and write complaints to the military prosecutor's office, the outlet has added.
