Three policemen detained in connection with case on Makhachkala resident’s death

Three employees of a police department have been detained in a case on the death of a resident of Makhachkala, the Prosecutor’s Office of Dagestan reports.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that Kurban Dalgatov died after being taken to a police department. His relatives suspected that the man died of asphyxiation after he “got electric shocks to the region of his heart.” The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Dagestan confirmed that the man had been injured before his death. A criminal case of abuse of power has been instituted against the policemen.

The Prosecutor’s Office of Dagestan organized a check in connection with the death of the detainee. According to the prosecutors’ information, on the night of January 21, the resident of Makhachkala was brought to the police department “to give information about the whereabouts of a person suspected of committing a crime.”

Let us remind you that according to the police information, on January 20, there was a conflict between two men, one of them shot at his opponent and fled with the help of a 35-year-old man, who was later detained. In the course of the investigation, the man’s health state deteriorated, and he was taken to a hospital, but medical officers confirmed his death. It turned out that the man got the injuries, which could cause his death.
