After homophobic complaint, Novorossiysk store removes rainbow from ads

The bosses of a store in Novorossiysk have replaced the image on the signboard after a visitor saw attributes of the LGBT propaganda therein it and contacted the police. Telegram users have treated the visitor's reaction as inadequate and reproached the entrepreneur-the store owner for the decision to change the signboard.

The “Nasha Gazeta Novorossiysk” newspaper writes that after the complaint, policemen have examined the signboard and questioned the staff. The signboard has nothing to do with LGBT symbols, but the store bosses decided to remove it, although the store has been operating under this logo for about 20 years.

The owner’s representatives have explained that earlier visitors had no complaints about the logo, but, in their opinion, the situation changed after the adoption of the law banning any LGBT propaganda in 2022.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in October 2022, social networks reacted violently to a video from the opening of a store in Makhachkala, where two young men in the images similar to female ones took part in the fashion show. After the resonance in social networks, the participants and spectators of the event received threats, Svetlana Anokhina, a journalist, has reported.
