Astrakhan activist Savin goes on hunger strike at IVS

Yaroslav Savin, a member of the political council of the regional branch of the "Parnas" Party, earlier imprisoned for petty hooliganism, has announced a hunger strike at the special detention centre (also known as IVS).

According to Marina, his wife, Savin was detained on February 17 under an article on petty hooliganism associated with disobedience to a law enforcer. He was taken into custody for five days and fined by 30,000 roubles for the image of the Ukrainian flag placed in the Telegram channel.

Yaroslav Savin has announced a hunger strike at the IVS, the "OVD-Info"* project reports with reference to his wife Marina Savina. The activist refused to eat the food given to him by his relatives, the "Mediazona"* has specified.

Earlier, Savin took part in various protest actions, including those held in support of Alexei Navalny** and the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial"***.
