Court refuses to exclude Rizvanov's testimony from proofs in Dagestani journalist Gadjiev's case
The court that considers the case of Abdulmumin Gadjiev, Abubakar Rizvanov and Kemal Tambiev has rejected the petition lodged by Rizvanov, who asked to treat his identification in a photo by a secret witness as inadmissible proof.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 23, the court dismissed the petition submitted by Kemal Tambiev, who asked to treat his first testimony obtained under duress as inadmissible proof. Rizvanov asked to treat his identification in a photo by a secret witness, which was carried out with violations, as inadmissible evidence. The court also informed that the results of the additional examination of Gadjiev's articles would not be ready until the end of April.
According to Arsen Shabanov, an advocate, the results of the additional examination of Gadjiev's texts will be ready at the end of April; and the judicial investigation will be closed.
Let us remind you that on January 10, 2023, the court announced the results of the examination of Gadjiev's articles published in the "Chernovik" outlet. The experts found that the articles did not promote terrorism and did not incite hatred towards law enforcers. The prosecution found it necessary to conduct a new examination of the journalist's articles in order to check them for the presence of "any calls."
According to investigators, the defendants had raised 68 million roubles and 200,000 US dollars for terrorists under the pretext of building mosques and helping poor Muslims. Gadjiev's colleagues treat his case as political persecution and are regularly holding pickets in Makhachkala in support of Abdulmumin Gadjiev. On April 4, journalists noted the active reaction of passers-by and car drivers to their solo pickets.
