Law enforcers conduct searches at homes of employees of “Team Against Torture”*

In Nizhny Novgorod, the office of the “Team Against Torture”* and three lawyers from the human rights organization were searched on Friday. The police explained the searches with a criminal case instituted in North Ossetia.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on April 14, law enforcers conducted a search at the branch of the “Team Against Torture”*in Pyatigorsk and confiscated a laptop and a flash drive. The need for a search was also explained by the criminal case instituted in North Ossetia.

This time, in Nizhny Novgorod, criminal investigation officers came with searches at the home addresses of three lawyers of the “Team Against Torture”*, including Olga Sadovskaya. Policemen also gathered in front of the Nizhny Novgorod office of the “Team Against Torture”*, this human rights organization reported on its Telegram channel.

“Earlier, searches were carried out at another office of the “Team Against Torture”*, in Pyatigorsk. We may not disclose the details of the case in the interests of our complainants,” the publication emphasizes.

*The “Team Against Torture” (formerly the “Committee Against Torture”) was created by lawyers who previously worked for the “Committee Against Torture” (CaT), which was included in the register of NCOs performing the functions of foreign agents.
