KBR resident fined for discrediting Russian militaries

The court has fined Islam Mambetov, a resident of the Zalukokoazhe village in the Zolsky District of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), after concluding that his posts in the social network had discredited Russian militaries.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that liability for discrediting the Russian Armed Forces was introduced on March 4, 2022, after which residents of Southern Russia and Northern Caucasus began to be held accountable under this article. It provides the maximum punishment for citizens as a fine of 50,000 roubles, but a repeated violation within a year entails already criminal prosecution.

According to investigators, the 32-year-old Islam Mambetov had placed posts in support of Ukraine in his social network page, the "Shot" Telegram channel has reported.

Let us remind you that on April 26, 2023, it became known that a protocol was drawn up against Yanina Etezova, a resident of Nalchik, for discrediting Russian militaries.
