On May 8-14, two persons perished in armed conflict in Northern Caucasus
During the week from May 8 to May 14, 2023, two persons perished during the armed conflict ongoing in Northern Caucasus. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Dagestan has reported that an 18-year-old native of the village of Novolakskoye and a 20-year-old native of Kaspiysk rendered armed resistance during an attempt to detain them and were killed in a shootout. Two grenades, a pistol and two knives were found on them. According to law enforcers, the young people had planned to attack law enforcers with these weapons.
The police have explained that on May 11, these two youngsters attacked a taxi driver near the village of Tsyisha, the Kulin District, in order to take the car away from him. The FSB and MIA agents came to the conclusion that the attackers were "supporters of the extremist trend of the Islam."
