Mobilized person from KBR convicted for service evasion

The Vladikavkaz Military Court has sentenced Muayed Kochesokov, a resident of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), to six years in colony, finding him guilty of leaving his military unit without permission.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 2 it became known that a court in Novorossiysk sentenced Dmitry Tyurin, a contract military serviceman, to five years and two months of freedom deprivation, finding him guilty under the same part of Article 337 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

According to the verdict, on September 24, 2022, Kochesokov "in connection with the order about the partial mobilization" was enrolled into the personnel of the military unit and served from September 25. On October 3 Kochesokov, "wishing to take a break from his military service," went home. "On January 26 this year, from his fellow villagers he became aware of his search in connection with his absence from the military unit. On January 27, after a conversation with a colleague, he independently arrived at the military commandant's office (in Vladikavkaz), where he reported about the unauthorized abandonment of the military unit without valid reason," the indictment says.

As mitigating circumstances, "the court takes into account that Kochesokov has admitted his guilt, repented of his deed, and is the father of two young children."

Let us remind you that on September 21, 2022, Vladimir Putin announced a partial mobilization. On October 28, the Minister of Defence reported to the President on its completion, but no corresponding decree was issued. Lawyers have come to the conclusion that no presidential decree was needed to complete the partial mobilization, the Putin's press secretary has explained.
