Chechen law enforcers criticized by Ramzan Kadyrov returned to special military operation zone

Five fighters of the “Sever-Akhmat” regiment, who were released from the Ukrainian captivity, were returned to the zone of the special military operation. The fighters declared that they were ready to carry out any order.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on April 15, Ramzan Kadyrov announced that five Chechen fighters had returned to Grozny from the Ukrainian captivity. The leader of Chechnya criticized them. Human rights defenders and Caucasian experts note that in the Caucasus, captivity was not seen as something shameful and that adats (local customary practices observed by a Muslim community, – note of the “Caucasian Knot”) do not regulate behaviour in the war zone, as they apply only to the daily life of people.

Salakh, one of the fighters, said in a video posted on the Telegram channel of the “Grozny” ChGTRK (State TV and Radio Broadcasting Company) that he had returned to the zone of the special military operation, as his colleagues were there. The fighter noted that, at the direction of his commanders, he was ready to serve at any point. Another fighter also said that he was ready to carry out any order.

Let us remind you that after the return of the Chechen fighters, Ramzan Kadyrov stated that they had no reason to be captured. “The justifications may be different, but a warrior must prove by returning to the front line that he had no other choice,” Ramzan Kadyrov emphasized.

The fact that the Chechen fighters were captured is a matter of honour not only for an individual soldier, but for the entire military unit in which he serves, the leader of Chechnya has added.
