OSCE condemns attack on Milashina and Nemov

The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) has condemned the attack committed in Chechnya against Elena Milashina, a journalist of the "Novaya Gazeta" outlet, and Alexander Nemov, an advocate, and called for the culprits to be found and punished.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 4, in Chechnya, an armed group of people attacked Milashina and Nemov, who arrived at the trial of the case of Zarema Musaeva.

"The OSCE's Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) condemns the horrific attack on Elena Milashina and Alexander Nemov, who worked to protect human rights. We ... call to defend their important work in the field of human rights protection," the TASS quotes the OSCE's statement.
