Ingush activist Ismail Nalgiev thanks activists and human rights defenders

The judge has insisted that the Ingush activists begin giving the last word at the appeal trial, although they asked to give them time to prepare for their speeches. Ismail Nalgiev has reminded that he refused to plead guilty, and thanked all human rights defenders and activists for their support throughout the trial.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since January 13, 2023, the court has been considering complaints against the verdicts against seven protest leaders in Magas. On July 20, Bagaudin Khautiev, Musa Malsagov and Malsag Uzhakhov stated that the charges against them were refuted by the case materials, but the court has ignored some of these materials, and deliberately excluded some of them.

Kaloi Akhilgov, an advocate, has noted that at the debates, the prosecutor "resorted to declaring" everything he had stated in his last year's objections to the defendants' appeal complaints.

Bilan Dzugaev, an advocate for Zarifa Sautieva, has pointed out the unacceptable logic of the first-instance judge, who had evaluated the examinations concerning the same moment in a completely different way.

Ismail Nalgiev, an activist, thanked everyone who supported him and his associates during the trial, also recollecting the Ingush activists who had been forced to emigrate. He has also thanked the journalists who covered their trial "from the very beginning to the present day."

The activist also thanked all the advocates and public defenders, listing them by name and detailing the merits of each of them. Nalgiev has stressed that they had violated no laws; on the contrary, they "strictly followed the Constitution."
