Kadyrov gives number of soldiers from Chechnya in SMO zone

More than 28,000 participants in the special military operation (SMO) in Ukraine were sent there from Chechnya, including 13,000 volunteers, Ramzan Kadyrov has informed in his Telegram channel. According to his story, 7000 of them are now on the frontline.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the head of Chechnya is regularly reporting on sending groups of fighters from Chechnya to Ukraine; he published the previous such report on July 1.

The "Caucasian Knot" has also reported that the next group of volunteers included Akhmed Zakaev's nephew, Khusein Zakaev, who was detained by Chechen law enforcers earlier in May. Among those sent to Ukraine is Valid Kuruev, a former Deputy Mufti of Chechnya, whose disappearance became known in May, after Khusein Djambetov returned to Chechnya.

In December 2022, Kadyrov claimed that all the participants in the SMO in Ukraine from Chechnya, including law enforcers, had gone there voluntarily.

  • Compensation decrease for illegal prosecution violates rights of KBR resident

The court ruling, which awarded Madin Gubzhokov compensation of 30,000 roubles for unlawful criminal prosecution, is incomparable with the moral harm caused by the actions of Azamat Kyaov, a former law enforcer. The amount is ridiculous and should be appealed against, lawyers and human rights defenders have stated.
