Monuments to Akhmat Kadyrov in Kazakhstan attacked by vandals

In Kazakhstan, in the village of Malaya Saran, unknown vandals have destroyed the memorial sign dedicated to Akhmat Kadyrov, the father of the current Chechen leader and the first president of the republic. Offensive inscriptions appeared on another monument in the village.

Both incidents took place at night on August 6. The video footage posted in a Telegram channel oppositional to Chechen authorities shows the attacks on the above memorials. The video shows the sign; then one of the vandals hits it with a sledgehammer.

The sign was destroyed; and inscriptions appeared on the monument, the "Kavkaz.Realii"* project has reported.

Malaya Saran is the birthplace of Akhmat Kadyrov (August 23, 1951). The memorial sign was opened on August 23, 2012. During his visit to Kazakhstan, Ramzan Kadyrov visited his grandfather's house in Malaya Saran and his grave in the Dubovka village in the Karaganda Region.
