Blogger from Vladikavkaz fined for discrediting Russian Army

A court in Vladikavkaz has found Batraz Tigiev, a blogger from Vladikavkaz, guilty in absentia of discrediting the Russian Army and fined him by 45,000 roubles. The blogger has stated that he was deprived of the right to defence, as he was not informed about the court session.

According to the "Osnova" outlet, according to Tigiev, he learned about the administrative protocol drawn up against him and the court decision after the fact thereof.

Earlier, on June 20, he said that law enforcers came to his parents. "To pester my very elderly parents and put pressure on me through them is mean," he wrote in his Telegram channel.

In his Telegram channel, Tigiev posts about sports, mainly about football, including criticizing the North-Ossetian authorities for their attitude to the development of sports; he expresses his critical attitude towards the special military operation (SMO) in Ukraine and talks about life in Greece.

Tigiev left Russia in the fall of 2022, the "Sota" outlet has reported.

The "Caucasian Knot" has also reported that Konstantin Yefremov, a former platoon commander, who had left Russia, was fined in absentia in Vladikavkaz. The court treated his interview to the human rights project "Gulagu.net" about the events in Ukraine as discrediting the Russian Army.
