Home of Volgograd painter Philippenzo searched

Law enforcers have searched the apartment and studio of the Volgograd street painter, Philip Kozlov, known under the pseudonym of Philippenzo.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 26, Philip Kozlov was released from the special detention centre in the Moscow Region after two consecutive 15-day-long arrest terms.

On July 29, 2023, Kozlov was detained at a Moscow airport on his way back from Georgia and arrested for 15 days on charges of disobeying the police. On the 13th day of his arrest, he was taken to court, again accused of disobedience to law enforcers and re-arrested for 15 days.

Philip Kozlov's apartment and studio are being searched. Law enforcers were waiting for Kozlov near house; some of his works were confiscated, the "Polygon.Media" Telegram channel has informed.

"Preliminary, he is charged with "vandalism motivated by political hatred" for the painter's latest street art works," says the post in the channel.

The last Philippenzo's work before the arrests was a large graphic painting about Russia under the Elektrozavodskoy Bridge in Moscow made on June 12, the Day of Russia. After that, the police came to his home; and Kozlov decided to temporarily leave Russia.

Let us remind you that in 2022, a Volgograd court fined Kozlov three times under an article about discrediting the Russian Army for his pacifist graffiti.
