Resident of Astrakhan Region fined for comments in social network

The court has fined a resident of the Astrakhan Region finding his comments posted in the social network as discredited Russian militaries.

The Kamyzyak District Court has fined Ramon Tursunov by 30,000 roubles. According to the protocol, he had posted comments in the "VKontakte" social network that "contain information that contributes to the deprivation of trust and undermining the authority of an unlimited circle of people in the Russian Armed Forces."

The case was initiated by employees of the Centre for Combating Extremism (Centre "E"), the "Kavkaz.Realii"* project has reported.

*Included by the Russian Ministry of Justice (MoJ) into the register of foreign agents.
