President of South Ossetia: "Peace March" has failed

Eduard Kokoity, President of the Republic of South Ossetia, has stated: "The attempt to hold the so-called 'Peace March' has completely failed."

According to his story, "the failure was contributed both by the tough position of the Russian Federation and the hard line of the international community, since everybody understood quite perfectly what was meant under the Georgian 'Peace March' on South Ossetia."

"Preparation for the March," Mr President has added, "was held in the city of Gori. There were negotiations about its support with the 'Pora' (It's High Time) Ukrainian Movement and nationalist organizations of the Baltics. We were ready to meet these people with peace should they come with peace, but we were also ready to be tough should they start a provocation."

At the same time, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent informs that Eduard Kokoity has noted that "there is information that still they make attempts to rally people together and brought plenty of transport, but very few people have appeared. Therefore, they had to give up the idea of the Georgian leadership."
