Ingush police officers arrested on suspicion of falsifying drug case

Investigators convinced the court to take into custody two police officers suspected of illegally purchasing drugs and falsifying a criminal case against a resident of Ingushetia.

According to the investigators’ version, the police officers illegally purchased and stored the drug, which they planted to an interior of a car of a local resident “against his will” on June 27. Then the suspects drew up a protocol on the inspection of the crime scene, in which they included deliberately false information about the alleged discovery and seizure of a narcotic drug. On July 3, a criminal case was illegally instituted under the above false information.

“It has been previously found that, in order to increase the rate of detection of crimes in the field of drug trafficking, two employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs ... falsified evidence that a resident of Ingushetia had allegedly committed a crime,” reports the official website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for Ingushetia.
