Maikop blogger complains about lack of medical care at SIZO

The administration of the SIZO (pre-trial prison) in Krasnodar denies a medical examination of Sofya Angel-Barokko, a blogger from Maikop, who suffers from asthma and who has been arrested in the case on insulting the feelings of believers and justifying terrorism.

Blogger’s relatives report that investigators reject requests to appoint a medical examination, since asthma is not on the list of diseases that prevent a person from being in custody. In addition, the SIZO administration restricted Sofya Angel-Barokko from communicating with anyone except her advocate. The blogger’s relatives have not received letters from her for a month already, the “OVD Info”* reports.

Sofya Angel-Barokko is a video blogger, and her videos talk about ancient gods and magic. In August 2023, the blogger was accused of insulting the feelings of believers and justifying terrorism and then arrested, the “Kavkaz.Realii”* reports.
